PCool Milk Cooling Tanks:

Cooling Efficiency for Smaller Dairy Farms

Bönen, 14 March 2012 – The faster the cooling, the better the quality of the milk: this applies to any dairy farm, regardless of size. GEA Farm Technologies has now developed a new cooling tank series especially for smaller farms and collection points. The PCool product range for milk quantities from 320 - 1950 liters is easy to use and also has an efficient cooling capacity and high-quality insulating properties.

PCool cooling tanks offer optimum cooling capacity with low energy consumption. STI stainless steel evaporators ensure optimum heat transfer. They are specifically designed to ensure an optimal distribution of the refrigerant across the entire surface. The oil recirculation in the evaporator guarantees efficient lubrication, a high degree of reliability and a long service life. The cooling tanks are insulated with CFC-free polyurethane foam. Farmers can, therefore, also cool and store smaller quantities of milk perfectly with a reduced amount of energy. As the temperature only rises very slightly between milkings, the quality of the milk is preserved.

An electronic A4-sized control with a clear digital display monitors and checks the cooling capacity. Refrigeration units and agitators preset ex works cool the milk quickly and reliably at a lower level of power consumption. The start of cooling is automatically delayed during the first milking. To ensure reliable measurement of the milk volume, all PCool milk cooling tanks are calibrated with a stainless steel measuring stick.

The new milk cooling tanks from GEA Farm Technologies are supplied in six variants of the 2 BII standard class and in seven variants of the 4 BII standard class in three different diameters. The container and refrigeration unit are mounted on a solid galvanized frame and adjustable feet. The PCool milking cooling troughs comply with all current standards pertaining to safety, design and performance. Cleaning is simple thanks to a generously proportioned lid opening.

With PCool, GEA Farm Technologies has developed a new generation of cooling tanks that provides the most hygienic and energy-efficient solution possible for cooling and storing milk. This also enables smaller dairy farms to ensure that their milk is of a high quality.
