PK Plate Koolers

PK plate coolers for the pre-cooling of milk are counter-flow coolers for exchanging heat between filtered milk and water (either well water or water from the public water supply). If there is an approximate flow of 1,5 l of pre-cooling water per liter of raw milk, this type of counter-flow cooling system will lower the temperature of the milk to around 37,4° F [3° C] above the inlet temperature of the water. The resulting heated water can be used for operational purposes (e.g. cattle drinking water).



The pre-cooled milk is then further cooled down to the required storage temperature in the cooling tank. When used with iced water, PK plate coolers can also be used for instant cooling of the milk.

Stainless-steel PK Plate Coolers are designed for pre-cooling and instant cooling.
